About AltBild

AltBild is a project of the YouTube channel “Dorfleben von einst”. On the channel we tell stories of life in earlier times – and many viewers asked whether we could bring their own old photos back to life. That is exactly what we do here.

By hand, not at the push of a button

Every photo is worked on by hand by our restorer – face by face. Modern tools help, but they do not replace the expert’s eye.

Colours that fit the era

Before we colorize a black and white photo, we research clothing, objects, era and place so that the colours make sense and are not chosen at random.

You see it before you pay the rest

You pay a deposit, receive a preview by email and pay the rest only afterwards. One round of corrections is included.
